Crowns, Hats and Handbags

Sunday 5 June

Free performances at community celebrations for Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Dancefest’s Chance to Dance Company for dancers aged 55 and over, Reach Youth Dance Company for 11-14 year olds, and Barbourne Singers Community Choir, created Crowns, Hats and Handbags, a pop up performance for community events on Sunday 5 June.

We worked with artist Kate Brookes from Worcestershire Resource Exchange on creating eye-catching props made from reclaimed materials, for an uplifting dance performance with live song, inspired by the seven decades of Queen’s Elizabeth’s reign.

We performed at community events in Diglis Fields in Worcester, Cherry Orchard House, Pershore and Bishampton Villages Hall.

Approximate times of our performances

  • 12.15pm Diglis Fields, Worcester WR5 3EF
  • 2pm Bishampton Villages Hall, Broad Lane, Bishampton, Pershore WR10 2LY
  • 3.30pm Cherry Orchard House, Pershore, Worcestershire, WR10 1EZ

(Please note, these are not exact as all the events are a little flexible)

Made possible thanks to National Lottery players and administered by UK Community Foundations on behalf of Arts Council England, the Let’s Create Jubilee Fund supported a huge range of projects throughout England.
