International Dance Artist and Choreographer, Autin Dance Theatre CIO

Johnny is an award-winning choreographer and dance leader with over 20 years' experience across professional, community, and educational settings. Originally trained in contemporary dance in France, he specialises in multidisciplinary choreography and community-engaged arts practice.

As the founding director of Autin Dance Theatre, Johnny has led the creation and delivery of innovative outdoor and site-responsive performance work, touring nationally and internationally. He has been commissioned by leading arts organisations including the British Council, Dance Hub Birmingham, Arts Connect, Macerata Opera Festival, and Muda Africa.
 
Beyond his artistic practice, Johnny brings significant leadership experience to the Dancefest board. He serves as Associate Dance Artist at Midlands Arts Centre (MAC), where he leads youth dance programming, and has directed large-scale cultural projects including puppetry direction for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony. His commitment to bold, inclusive arts delivery and positive social change through creative practice aligns closely with Dancefest's mission.**
 
Johnny is passionate about supporting diverse voices in the dance and movement ecology and brings both artistic credibility and strategic thinking to his trustee role at Dancefest.
