This performance celebrates the hard work and excellence of dance taking place in county schools and colleges.
Worcestershire Dancing is the culmination of a year that will include ten Dancefest and School Games dance in education festivals, with over 2,000 children and young people taking part and watching each other in an informal setting. Worcestershire Dancing builds on the work done in these festivals by providing the opportunity to perform in a professional theatre to a public audience.
The performance will take place at Artrix, Bromsgrove at 7pm on Wednesday 3 July 2019.
We’re looking for work that:
There are 13 performance slots available and we can accommodate around 140 performers in the backstage area and changing rooms. We like to provide a cross section of work, including solos, duets, small group and whole class work, from a range of styles and themes.
New for 2019, we’re accepting dance films. These can be projects created specifically for camera and might be useful for dancers who could find performing on stage challenging
All stages from primary to further education are invited to apply and work will be chosen to represent creativity, progression and quality.
Worcestershire Dancing will take place at Artrix, Bromsgrove’s professional theatre, and all groups will have a technical rehearsal on stage during the day, with a chance to watch each other in the dress rehearsal. The evening performance is the opportunity to present your work to the general public and tickets will be available to purchase from Artrix box office on 01527 577330, artrix.co.uk
It’s free to take part, but groups would need to cover their own costs relating to transport, costume etc.
Applicants will be notified if successful or unsuccessful by email by 6pm on Tuesday 30 April.
