Dancefest at The Old Fire Station

We’re incredibly excited to share news of our short term, pop-up dance and art space in the heart of Worcester city.

We’ll be taking over the Old Fire Station in Copenhagen Street for the next three months, to create a pop-up dance space for Worcester, with a mix of dance classes, performances and workshops for all ages.

Thanks to our successful application to Dance Hub Birmingham’s Investment Programme, which aims to support a diverse range of projects in Birmingham and the West Midlands, we’ll be helping to keep the town centre vibrant and creative for people in Worcester and for those visiting the city.

We’re planning taster sessions and all sorts of dance events - so come and see us soon to find out what we’re planning and how you and your family can take part.

We’re also inviting regional artists to use the space for the creation of new work and work in development - get in touch if you’re interested in using our space.

Keep checking this page and our social media to see what happens next and to book on to our events!

Kitty Ross, Director of Dancefest, says: “This is a fantastic and incredibly exciting opportunity for Dancefest, building on our 30-year history in the region, allowing us to reach new audiences and interact with the city in new ways. We are very grateful for the support of Dance Hub Birmingham whose investment will allow us to experiment, test ideas, develop new partnerships and shape our future.”

Ben Roberts, Director of Guthrie Roberts Ltd, who manage The Old Fire Station, says: "GRL is delighted that Dancefest has chosen to use this unique and historic space, and hope that the location helps to attract the support and attention they deserve.”
