Movement Never Lies: Workshop with Marie-Louise Crawley (18+)
Sunday 17 October, 10.00-11.30, The Angel Centre, Angel Place, Worcester, WR1 3QN

An introduction to contemporary Graham-based technique. A class of floor exercises, centre work and travelling, working on key aspects of the technique: contraction/release, the spiral, how the body and dance express different emotions, and, as Martha Graham said, how 'movement never lies.' Marie-Louise is a dance-theatre artist who has performed with Ariane Mnouchkine's Théâtre du Soleil in Paris. She trained with Marcel Marceau and also trained in classical ballet, contemporary dance, traditional Sri Lankan and South Korean dance.

Elizabethan Dance Workshop with Catherine Greenhill (18+)

Sunday 7 November, 10.30-1.00, The Angel Centre, Angel Place, Worcester, WR1 3QN
Catherine is a professional teacher of period dance and movement of the fifteenth to twentieth centuries. With a wide experience of dance (historical, ballet, ballroom, flamenco and folk), she has choreographed for stage and TV and is currently demonstrating and teaching for the National Trust. This session will commence with a Balletto by Caroso entitled Villanella and will then move on to a more complex dance from the Italian Courts.   Please wear soft flexible shoes with a very low heel.
