About Us

Dancefest is the dance development organisation for Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Participation, projects and performance are our focus. Dancefest works independently and collaboratively to deliver, support development and raise the profile of dance in the area.

We believe that participating in dance is a creative, learning experience that benefits health and well being, and that watching dance performances can excite, challenge, inform and push boundaries.

Classes take place in venues in the two counties. They are for all ages, from toddlers to people in their 80s, and for all abilities, from experienced dancers developing and extending their skills, to people who have never danced before.
There are regular performance opportunities, from informal sharings to theatre-based performances.
Dancefest leads many projects each year. These vary in size and scale, from small one-off workshops to mid scale site specific work, regular projects such as Jigsaw (a biennial  inclusive performance project), dance films and collaborations with other artists and organisations.
We offer extensive work for schools, colleges and universities, both within the curriculum and after school, and with community groups, including organisations working with older people, disabled people, and young and disadvantaged people.
Dancefest leads Worcestershire Dance Promoters which brings together the county’s venues to work on audience development, programming and participation.
